Approved. Both my cats are fish boys, and as soon as i lift a tin of this out the cupboard there is yelling, trilling, headbutts and nuzzles at my ankles until the bowl goes down. Its the first food i've used where the bowls end up completely empty. The size is good, one is on a bit of a diet so 75g tins are a good size for him and me to keep an eye on consumption. Soft coats, no smelly litter boxes. Great stuff

I have spent a fortune looking for food my cat will eat. She is so fussy she won’t eat treats or dry food. As soon as I gave her thrive tuna fillet she ate the whole bowl without any objections. It’s a great complete food. She is also recovering from an ilness and what a difference her coat is now she is on thrive.

Tuna flavour - one of the most popular flavours according to my pack of cats. Never fails to be demolished - doesn't smell too bad,and has added vitamins and whatever to keep them healthy. If your cat requires a sensitive diet, this will help nicely.

Our little cat usually has their chicken which he loves so we decided to try him on the tuna to offer him some variation. As soon as I placed this down it was gone in seconds, I’d never seen him eat his food so fast!Quality looks good, smell isn’t offensive if you like tuna. A hit I’d say.

FAQ

You asked, we answered!
  • We aim to make our packaging components as close to 100% recyclable as currently practicable, using recycled raw materials wherever possible.

  • We use human-quality ingredients—no questionable fillers. These are the same ingredients found in everyday dishes like salads, soups, and sandwiches. Our tuna is pole-and-line caught, and only responsibly sourced tuna is used in our Thrive Complete wet food.

  • It depends on your cat, but we generally recommend transitioning between 9 and 12 months of age.

  • Allergic reactions are typically triggered by specific allergens such as gluten or certain proteins. Thrive recipes contain no wheat, dairy, soy, or GM ingredients. Most of our foods use a single protein source, though some may include closely related proteins—such as salmon with tuna, or chicken with turkey.

We label all ingredients clearly, so you can easily identify anything your pet may be sensitive to—we never use vague terms like “meat or animal derivatives.” Because of this transparency and simplicity, Thrive foods are often recommended by vets as part of exclusion diets to help identify protein sensitivities.

  • There’s no real need to add water to our products, as the high level of natural moisture in our Thrive wet foods already meets your cat’s hydration needs.

  • Unlike dogs, most cats are a similar size, and with a typical activity level—sleeping much of the day and being active at night—they generally need around 2–3 cans of our wet food per day.

  • We do not test our products on caged animals or carry out invasive testing—our pet foods are made using only pure ingredients. New Thrive recipes are first sampled by our team, then offered to our own pets and those of friends to ensure they’re enjoyed in a natural, home environment. We see no value in testing pet food on animals that aren’t kept as loved companions.

For added reassurance, our products are also assessed by independent laboratories and authorities to ensure they meet recommended nutritional guidelines.

  • We care about every ingredient that goes into Thrive products—that’s why our recipes have such short ingredient lists. We insist on the highest welfare standards for all livestock.

Our products are manufactured in line with current UK and EU animal welfare legislation, or, where appropriate, in accordance with internationally recognised standards such as Red Tractor and Friend of the Sea. Our fish is sourced sustainably, and we have been awarded ethical accreditation by the Ethical Company Organisation.

  • Yes! We are proud to announce that Thrive Cat Wet Food has officially launched on Chewy.com as of December 2025.

  • At Thrive, we believe that you and your pet are what you eat. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in producing premium-quality food for people, we’ve created a truly “real” pet food made with simple, recognizable ingredients.

We use only human-grade cuts of meat or fish—never substitutes and absolutely no “animal derivatives.” Our recipes are completely pure and free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, as well as added sugars, wheat, gluten, dairy, soy, and GM ingredients. You could say it’s what we leave out that makes us different.

  • We formulate our recipes with “free liquid” water. Unlike many other wet foods, we don’t use added fillers or artificial gelling agents that bind water and make the product appear less moist. This helps ensure cats receive the natural hydration they need from their food.

When it comes to wet food, our philosophy at Thrive is simple: “wetter is better!”

  • “Complete” means our pet food provides all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients needed for a balanced diet, in line with the European Pet Food Industry Federation (FEDIAF) guidelines. While most dry foods are complete, many wet foods are classed as “complementary” instead.

All Thrive foods are complete, so whether fed on their own or alongside other products, you can be confident your pet is receiving a nutritionally balanced diet.

  • Thrive products have been recommended and sold by more than 1,000 vets since 2003. Every recipe is developed in collaboration with our panel of specialist nutritional experts.

  • Poor-quality ingredients in some pet foods have contributed to cats developing sensitivities to cereals and gluten. For this reason, all Thrive wet cat foods are free from cereals and grains.

  • Taurine is an essential amino acid and a vital dietary requirement for feline health—without it, cats can develop serious conditions including blindness, dental issues, and heart disease. Because cats cannot produce taurine themselves, it must be obtained through their diet.

While meat, shellfish, and cold-water fish naturally contain taurine, we also add a supplement after processing to ensure your cat receives the correct daily intake.
